Winding Creek Celebrates a Milestone with the Dedication of Lower Bank Park
On Saturday, March 7th, Winding Creek celebrated a meaningful milestone with the dedication of Lower Bank Park, the first park within the master planned community and the 92nd park in Roseville. Winding Creek homeowners, all came together to mark the opening of a space designed with community connection at its core.
The afternoon delivered a gorgeous, sun-filled sky – paired with strong winds that became an unforgettable part of the celebration. Embracing the moment, Anthem Properties handed out kites and before long the sky above Lower Bank Park was filled with color. Watching a handful of kites take flight above the new park created a magical moment and a memorable scene for the celebration.
The event offered a welcoming, festive atmosphere thanks to contributions from all partners involved. Anthem Properties provided snacks and branded cookies for attendees, the Creekview Neighborhood Association served coffee and the City of Roseville shared branded giveaways and swag, making the celebration feel both thoughtful and collaborative.
The dedication ceremony featured remarks and acknowledgements from community and city leaders. Vice Mayor Karen Alvord welcomed the crowd and spoke to the importance of parks in building strong, connected neighborhoods. Jill Geller, Parks, Recreation & Libraries Director, served as Master of Ceremonies, guiding the program, while Joel DeJong recognized the many contributors who helped bring Lower Bank Park from vision to reality.
Spanning 2.5 acres, Lower Bank Park includes a half basketball court, playground and a large open grass area, offering flexible space for recreation, play and everyday gathering. The park’s design reflects significant community involvement, with resident input helping shape both the priorities and features to ensure the park meets the needs of the neighborhood it serves.
As the first park in Winding Creek, Lower Bank Park represents more than a new amenity – it sets the foundation for future memories, connections and traditions. With neighbors mingling, refreshments shared and kites dancing in the wind overhead, the dedication offered a look into the vibrant community of Winding Creek.
